Rory & Ransom
I spent a full day from sunup to sunset walking the ridges and hollers of Beech Mountain as Rory and Ransom spent the day hunting for rabbits. They lived with their mother and younger sister with few conveniences in an isolated cabin high up on the mountain.
Although we spent more than 12 hours together few words were spoken. They left home at dawn with two shells between them, one in each single barrel shotgun. We returned near the end of the day with the one shell still in Ransom’s shotgun and one shot fired by Rory along with his rabbit in hand. 1970
